Maverick Vinales hopes to make history at this year’s Argentine Grand Prix – here’s what else you need to know

THIS year the MotoGP’s Argentina Grand Prix is being held at the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit and Maverick Vinales will be looking to make history after his Qatar win.

But it should be a closely fought contest as Honda’s Marc Marquez hopes to win another MotoGP race after his success last year – here’s everything you need to know.

What time is MotoGP’s Argentina Grand Prix 2017?

Moto GP’s Argentina Grand Prix’s first two practice sessions will take place at 1.55pm and 6.05pm on Friday April 7 2017.

Final practice laps will commence between 1.55pm and 5.30pm on Saturday April 2017 before the qualifying session which starts later that same day at 6.10pm and 6.35pm.

The MotoGP Argentina Grand Prix 2017 race will take place at 8pm on Sunday, April 9.

Maverick Vinales had a great 2016, his improved Suzuki bike had a huge impact and he took his first MotoGP podium in France where he finished third.

And the 22-year-old’s success didn’t stop there, he later went onto win his first ever MotoGP at the British Grand Prix.

His wins didn’t go unnoticed and after Jorge Lorenzo announced his move to the Ducati team, Vinales was asked to replace him at Yamaha.

If Vinales can continue his success at this year’s MotoGP’s Argentina Grand Prix he will make history by becoming Yamaha’s first rider to win the opening two races of the year since 1990.
